Hailing from McQueeney, Texas, Phil moved to Nashville in 1981. His playing career is a string of who's who, such as Randy Travis, Tanya Tucker and Larry Gatlin. One of Phil's most notable stints was being part of George Strait's, Ace in the Hole Band. Phil recorded two albums with George that went double platinum. He also toured extensiv

After the lights of Music City faded and the TV appearances on Hee Haw, Nashville Now and Austin City Limits were all in the rear view, Phil moved to Sequin, Texas. He turned his focus back to his musical roots and began pursuing his passion for jazz and blues/rock. Phil has played with many local and regional artists throughout south Tex
After the lights of Music City faded and the TV appearances on Hee Haw, Nashville Now and Austin City Limits were all in the rear view, Phil moved to Sequin, Texas. He turned his focus back to his musical roots and began pursuing his passion for jazz and blues/rock. Phil has played with many local and regional artists throughout south Texas but one of his proudest moments was performing at the House of Blues in Chicago. He said just standing on that stage where all his blues/rock heroes performed gave him chills.
